The Journey Back by Priscilla Cummings is a very action packed book that takes you through a journey with Micheal Griswold or as his friends call him "Digger".

Yet Sini wanted only freedom after three years of confinement, and Annie was increasingly left alone with a changed Rachel. The day after I wrote the review for Red Kayak, I was shelving at the Middle School and found THIS book, which is a sequel to Red Kayak. The Journey Back by Priscilla Cummings, this book takes place in a juvenile detention center and ends up in many different locations. Fourteen year old Digger is in juvenile detention center because of the hole that he and his friend J.T. This was the second book published with its companion novels. In fact, you were born to overcome them. You cannot maintain the illusion of loneliness if you are not alone. Clearing your mind of all this clutter results in mental health. In this perceived constellation the body is seen as capable of shifting its allegiance from one to the other, making the concepts of both health and sickness meaningful.”  (2:1-3), “You must have noticed an outstanding characteristic of every end that the ego has accepted as its own. This arrest is the cause of all illness, because only extension is the mind’s function.”  (12:6-8), “To see a body as anything except a means of communication is to limit your mind and to hurt yourself.”  (13:3), “Whenever you see another as limited to or by the body, you are imposing this limit on yourself.”  (14:3), “Freedom from illusions lies only in not believing them. The writing style is meant to be a page turner. Yet sickness is not of the body, but of the mind. In summary, section 6: “The Treasure of God” is saying: We are God’s treasure, but we do not know it. If you like a thriller this is the book for you. Alone and in the wilderness, Digger has to find food and shelter quick. Our minds have the power to extend this loving thought to all other minds. Thus, for Annie, the hope of spring overcame the cold of winter.

The genre of this book is realistic fiction and I have rad this genre before and it's my most favorite because it's the easiest to relate too. This can be accomplished only if the mind extends to other minds, and does not arrest itself in its extension. October 11th 2012 The author did a great job expressing Digger’s backstory and past. Digger decides to stay low and not get caught by living with a son and father that let him live with them. I loved watching Digger slowly realize that he can't run from the past, but he can change his future. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. You who are beloved of God are wholly blessed.

That is why He created His Son, and gave him the power to create with Him.”  (8:6-7), “The journey to God is merely the reawakening of the knowledge of where you are always, and what you are forever. The decision to wake is merely a change of mind – the reflection of the will to love instead of fear. The reader is hooked throughout the whole story, by the risk taking actions of Digger as he continues along on his escape. Especially in part 1, describing the months and years of hiding, she moves freely from actual event to personal impression, from organized thought to dreamlike imaginings.
